We gathered the most common, most relatable, and most practical Frequently Asked KaTrabaho Questions (FAKQs) — straight from job seekers like you and answers from Recruiters.

Before you explore the other questions, Let’s answer question of why Ka-trabaho Komunity is created first.

The following are the FAK-Qs, grouped by category, para mas madali mong mahanap ang sagot na hinahanap mo.

Category 1: Job Search Questions

Start by applying to entry-level or part-time roles.

First, always verify the employer. Search their name on Google with words like “scam” or “review” para makita kung may bad feedback.

Never give personal info like IDs, bank details, or OTPs unless sure ka na legit sila. And if they’re asking for payment before training or onboarding, that’s already a big red flag.

Mas okay din if you stick to trusted communities. You can follow our Philippine Go Facebook Page and join the Philippine Go Facebook Group—we post verified job listings and help each other avoid scams. Magtulungan tayo, safe at smart job hunting lang! ????✨

Yes, definitely! Many recruiters don’t just look for perfect matches—they also value potential and transferable skills. Kahit hindi 100% pasok sa qualifications, you can still stand out if you show that you’re willing to learn and adapt quickly.

Highlight skills na relevant kahit galing ka sa ibang field, and explain how they can add value sa role.

Isa sa mga top advice sa Reddit: “Tailor your resume for each job—focus on what matches the role, even if it’s not a perfect fit.”

Consistency is key! Set up job alerts sa LinkedIn (and other platforms) para real-time mong nakikita ang bagong openings. Then, create a simple daily routine—example: 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening for searching and applying.

Use a spreadsheet or tracker to organize your job applications—include the company name, position, date applied, application status, and any follow-up reminders.

This helps you stay focused and avoid double applications. Treat your job hunt like a project—organized, goal-oriented, and consistent.

One common reason is using a generic resume.

Make sure to customize your resume and cover letter based on the job description—highlight the skills and experiences that match what they’re looking for.

Pwede ka ring mag-follow up politely after 1–2 weeks, especially kung may contact details sa job post. Minsan, hindi agad nasasagot ng recruiters dahil sa dami ng applications—so a kind follow-up can make you stand out.

Pag nag-apply ka ulit, i-highlight mo yung growth mo—training, certifications, freelance work, or anything na nagpapakitang mas ready ka this time.

Mention it in your resume or cover letter para makita ng recruiter na proactive ka at may progress ka since your last application.

While there’s no one-size-fits-all, may mga insights from Reddit and recruiters suggesting that it’s best to send your resume during office hours, ideally around 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM on a Tuesday.

Bakit? Because HR teams usually check their inbox first thing in the morning, especially early in the week.

Kung late ka magsend (like late at night or weekends), there’s a chance na matabunan agad ang email mo sa dami ng bagong entries the next day.

10. Online application ba talaga ang mas ok? Or pwedeng face‑to‑face?

Online applications are the most preferred today—convenient, time-saving, at mas cost-effective, lalo na kung marami kang ina-applyan. Pero to make the most out of it, don’t just rely on job boards.

Check the company’s official website for openings, and if possible, send your resume directly to their email—this shows initiative.

Face-to-face applications can still work for some local or walk-in roles, especially sa malls or physical stores, pero for most industries, online talaga ang standard ngayon.

Category 2: Requirements and Application Worries

Especially for fresh graduates?

Yes, pero depende talaga sa trabaho.

Kung profession mo ay licensed-based like nursing, engineering, architecture, or education—big deal talaga ang pagiging board passer kasi requirement ‘yan para makapagsimula ka.

Pero kung general jobs like admin assistant, marketing, sales, customer service, or online work—okay lang kahit hindi board passer. Mas tinitingnan dito ‘yung skills, attitude, at willingness to learn.

Kahit wala ka pang work experience, pwede mong i-highlight ang extracurricular activities mo like:

  • Organizations (e.g., SSG, clubs)
  • Volunteer work
  • School projects or leadership roles

Ipakita ang soft skills mo tulad ng:

  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Time management

Clear, readable, and may professional feel.

Example: “To contribute my communication and teamwork skills in an entry-level position where I can grow and gain valuable work experience.”

Karaniwan, kailangan mo nito:

  • Certificate of Completion or Diploma (kung available)
  • Resume/CV
  • Valid ID (school ID or government ID)
  • Barangay Clearance
  • Application Letter (optional pero nice to have!)
  • TOR or Form 137 (kung required)
4. Ano-anong requirements ang pinaka importante na meron ako bilang first time job seeker?

If you’re just starting out, here are the essential documents you need to prepare:

  • Resume/CV – This is your first impression, so make sure it’s clear and easy to read.
  • Valid ID – Government-issued or school ID will do, basta legit.
  • SSS Number – For your social security and future benefits.
  • PhilHealth Number – Required sa medical and health coverage.
  • NBI Clearance – Background check to show you have no criminal record.
  • Pag-IBIG Number – Para sa housing and other government benefits.

Having these ready ahead of time will give you an edge. Hindi ka maho-hold during the hiring process kung complete na agad ang requirements mo.

5. Ano ang proseso after mag-submit ako ng requirements?

Usually ganito ang flow:

  2. Interview – Phone or face-to-face. Pwedeng may exam.
  4. Pre-employment requirements – Hihingi sila ng documents (NBI, SSS, medical, etc.).
  5. Orientation / Start of work – Welcome to the job world!

  • NBI Clearance – 1 day to 1 week (kung may hit, mas matagal)
  • SSS Number Registration – Same day kung online
  • PhilHealth – Same day
  • Pag-IBIG – Same day

7. How do I start writing an application letter?

Simulan mo sa:

  • Introduction – Sino ka? Anong role ang ina-applyan mo?
  • Why you’re applying – Ano ang nagustuhan mo sa job or sa company?
  • What you can offer – Kahit wala pang experience, highlight soft skills or school projects.
  • Closing – Thank them and say you’re excited to be part of their team.
8. Why is it important to have the right skills for the right job?

9. What are the three skills that every job requires?

Here are 3 must-have skills in almost any job:

  • Work ethic – Yung pagiging maasahan, disiplinado, at willing matuto.

The goal for now is to gain experience, discover your strengths, and learn along the way.

Think of your first job as a stepping stone.
Hindi kailangan perfect agad—what matters is:

  • Matuto ka ng basic work skills (like time management, teamwork, professionalism)

  • Mag-apply sa entry-level roles or internships in different industries
  • Observe what kind of tasks you enjoy or excel in
  • Don’t pressure yourself—your career will evolve over time

Category 3: Interview & Confidence Issues

  • Lack of preparation
  • Hindi convincing ang sagot
  • May hints na posibleng mag-resign agad
  • Hindi aligned ang expectations with the role
  • May red flags tulad ng pagiging defensive o negative

5. Bakit kaya may biglaang additional interview or assessment kahit final interview na dapat ‘yun?

Don’t panic—just prepare and treat it as another opportunity to shine!

6. Gaano katagal bago magka-job offer after the final interview?

Be honest and strategic.

Ipaliwanag kung paano mo ginamit ang time na ‘yun for personal growth, skills upgrade, or family priorities.

8. Any Tips para mag-stand out sa final interview?
  • Research about the company culture
9. Nakakahiya po magkamali sa interview. Paano kung na-stutter or na mental block ako?

Normal lang ‘yan! Even seasoned professionals experience this. Take a deep breath, pause for a moment, and recover gracefully.

Importante ang presence of mind at resilience. That says a lot about your character.

Yes!

  • Practice your answers aloud or with a friend
  • Know your resume by heart
  • Try mirror coaching
  • Wear something you feel confident in
  • And most importantly, remind yourself that you’re qualified and worthy of that role.

Category 4: Job Offers, Salary, & Red Flags

In fact, sa tech industry, it’s becoming more common (and acceptable) na mag-opt out ka from sharing that info.

Never lie, kasi if malaman nila later on, it might hurt your credibility.

Sabihin mo na you’re more comfortable discussing compensation based on market rate and the value you bring to the role.

Kung kailangan talaga for background check or onboarding later on, dun mo na lang siya i-consider. Pero sa simula pa lang ng negotiation? You have the right to politely decline.

Do your research.

Tingnan mo ang market rates using platforms like Glassdoor, PayScale, Jobstreet Salary Report, or Salary Explorer.

Compare it with your experience, skills, and location.

Yes, medyo red flag ‘yan.

Transparency sa compensation is a sign of a healthy work culture. If they keep dodging questions about salary, proceed with caution.

Pwede ka ring magtanong kung may structured pay grade or salary bands.

Try to negotiate based on value, not just need.

Sabihin mo respectfully na based on market research, you believe the fair range is higher.

Pwede ka ring mag-request ng non-monetary benefits (e.g., remote work, more leaves, training). If ayaw talaga, ask yourself: Are you willing to accept less for the experience?

  • ???? Walang clear contract or offer letter
  • ???? Verbal lang ang agreement (no documentation)
  • ???? Unusual requests—like paying to get hired
  • ???? Biglang change sa agreed terms (e.g., sweldo, role)
  • ???? Walang SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, or proper government benefits

Always ask for a written offer and take time to review before saying yes.

7. May mga job offers ba na sobrang ganda to be true?

Unfortunately, yes.

Kung super taas ng offer pero walang clear details, legit na kumpanya, or mabilis na hiring process (like “start tomorrow agad!”), magduda ka na. Double-check sa:

  • SEC registration (for local companies)
  • Online reviews or forums
  • If may payment request—SCAM ‘yan.
8. Ano ang tamang sagot kapag tinanong: “What is your expected salary?

Don’t lowball yourself. Instead, say:

“Based on my research and the value I bring, I believe a fair range would be around ₱XX,XXX to ₱XX,XXX. But I’m open to discussing it further.”

Minsan, saying “no” to the wrong offer opens the door for the right one.

Just make sure habang naghihintay ka, you’re also upskilling, networking, and learning.

10. Ano ang ibig sabihin ng “performance-based pay”?

Make sure to ask:

Make sure to ask:

  • What happens if targets aren’t met (will you still receive a base pay?) Clarity is key—bago ka pumirma.
  • Clear metrics or KPIs
  • How often this is reviewed

Category 5: Growth, Upskilling & Career Planning

Start small.

Alamin mo muna kung anong ayaw mo.

Then subukan mong i-explore ang mga pwede mong pasukin through short-term goals.

5. Worth it ba talaga mag-invest sa upskilling kahit entry-level pa lang ako?

Oo! Mas maaga mong simulan, mas malaki ang chance mong umangat.

Upskilling shows initiative — malaking plus yan sa employers.

6. Anong soft skills ang dapat kong i-prioritize ngayon?

ommunication, adaptability, time management, at problem-solving — yan ang mga soft skills na laging in demand.

Kahit 30 minutes a day, basta consistent ka, malaking bagay na yan sa long run.

Then decide kung upskilling, paglipat, or pivot ang next step mo.
